Year 9 go wild for The Wiz
On the 16th of June 40 students from Year 9, studying GCSE drama and BTEC Performing Arts, were fortunate enough to attend a performance of the famous musical, The Wiz at Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre.
The show has been running for years and was made famous in 1970 when Michael Jackson and Diana Ross performed as two of the lead roles. This time around the show saw the introduction of former X- factor contestant Treyc Cohen who brought the house down with her outstanding voice.
The show also had several local performers within the cast showing students that if the sky really is the limit and perhaps they could be up there one day.
All the students thoroughly enjoyed the show and were glued to their seats throughout, “It was a brilliant afternoon with amazing singing”,
