The language of learning
A trip to Birmingham’s oldest cinema brought French and Spanish language students’ learning to life. The students watched “The Choir” in French and “Valentin” in Spanish in the luxuriously restored Electric Cinema, a1930s Art Deco cinema. The films gave the students an opportunity to put their foreign language skills into practice whilst also giving them an insight into French and Spanish cultures. Film buff and cinema manager, Sam Bishop gave them a tour about the history of the Electric Cinema and also showed them how the film projection equipment works.
