Year 6 Virtual Transition

Year 6 primary school pupils who will be joining the Academy this September are been given a fabulous opportunity to to gain an insight into what it’s going to be like at secondary school. As part of the Academy’s extensive transition programme a virtual transition hub has been developed on the Academy website.

Through this hub, pupils are able to watch a virtual tour of the Academy, read about Academy students’ experienced and take part in quizzes and fun activities online. A select group of peer mentors will also be online to answer any questions the pupils may have about the Academy.  This innovative strand to the Academy’s transition programme will help ensure that new students settle in quickly and become confident, independent learners.
