Inspiring creative minds
In February six Year 10 Btec art students took a trip to an interactive gallery in West Bromwich to broaden their art skills and give them ideas to inspire their own work.
The visit supports the current work they are doing for their course. During the day they participated in two workshops; ‘light drawing’ which explored the creative and innovative photographic technique and ‘in my pocket’ which enlarged small objects to make them look giant.
For many students, this was their first experience of working within a professional photographic studio. It was a great insight to a gallery environment and students felt the trip was extremely beneficial to their studies. As we expected, students were a credit to the academy and took an enthusiastic approach to the workshops, demonstrating some great talent.
