Bringing history to life

The Norman conquest of England has captivated the minds of our Year 7s this term.  Through their research and studies the young historians have uncovered the secrets of the Bayeaux Tapestry, discovered what England was like before the Normans and analysed the problems William faced as a foreign ruler in England.  Throughout lessons students are being encouraged to think critically and, through research and the analysis of historical texts, speak knowledgably about the political and social context of 1066 and the Battle of Hastings.
