Musical Challenge

English and mathematics lessons took on a new dimension for year 7 and 8 students when they took the skills they have learnt in the classroom out onto the streets of Birmingham. The students undertook a 360° study of their home city, looking at its history, culture and geography and using their mathematical and English skills to interview people, research, gather and analyse statistical data and write up their findings. Cross-curricular projects like this develop our students’ capacity to apply what they have learnt in lessons to everyday situations.
