Homework

At the North Birmingham Academy we are aware that homework provides a valuable opportunity for students to both consolidate and extend their learning. The homework policy has been created in collaboration with a number of stakeholders, and informed by DFES guidelines, to create an opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge and skills – supporting the Key Stage 3 curriculum. Additionally, the homework policy should offer the opportunity for parents to engage in their child’s learning ensuring that the curriculum is open and accessible to the home. At the North Birmingham Academy we believe that the needs of all students should be met, accommodating a wide range of learning styles. The homework policy has been derived allowing for the use of project- based homework. These homework projects offer teachers the opportunity to create homework units that allow students to develop their independent research skills as well as secure class-based learning.

Homework packs are provided for each topic on a half-termly basis and can be printed from the website
