What is your role on the Governing Body?
I am a local authority governor and the chair of the personnel committee. I am also the governor responsible for safeguarding.
Tell us a bit about your background
Although my professional background is in human resources, I currently work for Birmingham local authority in children’s services, helping them make necessary changes to meet budget cuts whilst at the same time improving their service.
Why is being on the Governing Body important to you?
I am passionate about the importance of education to young people, to help them achieve their potential and make their way in the world.
What do you believe to be the key to success?
Being a parent of a 17 year old, I understand the pressures that young people are under and how important it is to have strong support from everyone around them. By working together, goals and targets seem a lot less daunting and success becomes more attainable.
