FONBA raise £300 for Help for Heroes

A quiz night organised by Friends Of North Birmingham Academy helped raise £300 for charity.
The quiz, which was held in October at The White Lion pub in Mere Green, had an impressive turn out, with lots of people supporting the worthy cause.

Help for Heroes are a charity dedicated to helping the wounded soldiers returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. They utilise their money by giving aid to ordinary people who do extraordinary things.

On 20 December 2011 at 5pm a cheque will be presented to Jack Jones, a soldier in the 3rd Mercian Fusiliers, who has recently returned from his duties in Afghanistan. Jack is the son of a member of staff at NBA, he will receive the cheque on behalf of the charity, who The White Lion also donate to.

Thanks to all those who attended the quiz, we were overwhelmed with your generosity and are pleased we could do something to contribute to those in need.
Here at North Birmingham Academy we recognise the importance of making charitable donations like these, and the success of our quiz night demonstrates the support we have for our soldiers out there fighting.
