Cross- Curricular Arts transition days

Over two consecutive Fridays, Year 7 worked with Round Midnight artists in workshops involving art, drama, music and dance.  All the workshops followed the theme of water, a topic they are studying this year and allowed them to think about water in lots of different ways.

The workshops used the arts to emphasise the differences in water for example, during art the students depicted the beauty of water by producing 3D seascape sculptures.  In drama they acted out scenes of drought and flooding showing the importance and disastrous effects that water can have on people and the environment.

The workshops were a nice change to the scheduled work plan and still allowed the students to study key subjects, but in an innovative and more creative way.
