Celebrating Diversity

A group of students recently visited the International Slavery Museum in Liverpool which highlights the international importance of slavery, both in a historic and contemporary context. Located on Liverpool's Albert Dock, it is only yards away from the dry docks where 18th century slave trading ships were repaired and fitted out.

The visit was the culmination of a project that saw the students learning about their personal identity and how this has been shaped by society, history and culture. Whilst at the museum the students undertook a research project on the development of slavery and its dramatic influence on the communities it touched.
