Valentine’s Day, NBA style

The poetry event of the term was a Valentine’s Day Poetry Reading on the 11^th February. It was held during lunchtime with the library decorated to match the theme with pink and red hearts, flowers and balloons.  It was an outstanding success, with Over 40 students and teachers coming along to participate!  

Miraculously, the theme of ‘love’ didn’t put anybody off and in fact brought out the creative side in our students, who were given the option of finding a poem that they wanted to share or to write their own. We can happily announce that North Birmingham Academy definitely has poetic talent, as the majority of the poems were the students own work and covered different aspects of love, romance and heartbreak. We definitely have some budding poets of the future!  

Congratulations to all of the students that took part, and a big thank you to all of those who came along to support. The poets and poetry lovers of NBA all look forward to the next one. Watch this space for details!
