Welcome to the Aspens Services information page.
You will find all you need to know about the school meals provision at North Birmingham Academy.
We have, over the Christmas break, worked with the Academy to re create the look and feel of the dining halls, with the objective of improving the overall eating experience for both students and staff.
We focused on design, colour and modernisation, but still using many of the original features such as the beautiful wooden flooring and the ceiling. The natural lighting was improved by removing the old curtains and replacing with blinds

We have also introduced a ‘Grab & Go’ area in each hall, to provided speedy service of such items as Homemade sandwiches, baguettes, salad pots, fruit & yoghurt pots and chilled drinks.
CASHLESS SYSTEM
The cashless system is now working really well, with students topping up on a regular basis, which in turn does increase the speed of service.
We would like to encourage more parents to send their children with a top up amount for the week, which would then ensure that they purchase healthy, balanced meals from us for the whole week, rather than spending their dinner money in the local shops.

Just email your child’s name (and cashless card number) to the email address below with the dates you wish to know about, and we can pull a report off the system with every purchase made with their card

WEEKLY MENUS
Aspens Services run a 4 week menu.
Each day we provide 2 choices of homemade traditional meals – one protein and one vegetarian, served with a carbohydrate and vegetables. Alongside this we offer the following options
- Thin crust pizza
- Jacket Potatoes with various fillings
- Pasta with various sauces
- Homemade Sandwiches, Baguettes, Rolls, Wraps and Bloomers
- Soup & a Roll
- Freshly made healthy options – Salad Pots, Fruit Pots, Yoghurt Pots,
- Homemade desserts
- Homemade tray bakes, biscuits and cakes

All our menus meet the Government’s food and nutritional standards.
We input our menu into a software package called ‘Nutmeg’ with measures the recipes over a week against 14 nutritional requirements.

PROMOTIONAL DAYS
We will run a number of theme days and promotional days throughout the year. These will offer great value for money – new foods to try, and generally bring a bit of fun into the menu.
We are also working with the school to link in with the curriculum, bringing to life some of the topics learnt in the classroom.
