English as an Additional Language
The main aim of the EAL base is to support newly arrived students who do not have English as their first language and other EAL students in mainstream classes through:
- Intensive support in the base by a designated language teacher
- Continuing support in mainstream classes by designated teaching assistants
- A comprehensive induction programme
- Assessments both in English and the first language
- Embracing cultural diversity
- Social and emotional support
We have our own specialist accommodation with ICT facilities and run a popular lunchtime club. Our experienced and dedicated team takes pride in nurturing the success of our students.
