BTEC Media First Diploma
BTEC Media First Diploma, is a fun and exciting course that concentrates on the theory of media as well as the practice. It will give you an insight into a real working life in the media profession. This Level 2 course is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades A*-C and will provide you with relevant technical skills for the media industry.
The Diploma course is marked as Pass, Merit or Distinction.
This course can lead directly to careers in broadcasting and media production. Alternatively further study at a higher level will lead to jobs such as a radio producer, photo journalist or video editor.
The units studied over the two year course are varied. In Year 10 these include:
- Animation.
- Video Production.
- Audience Research.
In Year 11:
- The Structure of the Media Industry.
- Final major production project.
- Media audiences.
- Film genres
You will be continually assessed throughout both years on practical assignments and written work.
