This is an excellent course to choose if you wish to continue with art and design after Year 11, either at college or in the workplace.
As this is a double option it is worth 2 or 4 GCSEs and is studied 6 lessons a week.
Students will study a wider range of art and design than the single options.
It is run in a similar way to single art and design, but there are much stronger links with industry and artists/designers and craftspeople. Students will apply their ideas to practical outcomes, looking at how professionals produce their work.
This course will cover a wide range of 2D and 3D art and design techniques as well as a focus on printmaking, graphics and textiles.
The course is purely coursework and modular based. There is no final examination, but deadlines throughout the year must be met.
